Our Story
Century-old Business Heritage
Gama is the inhouse brand of Gem & Co. a company standing tall and unshaken since 1928 in the busy streets of Parry’s Corner in Chennai. It has stood the test of time to become one of India’s oldest pen specialists. It was started by M C Cunnan and Venkatarangam Chetty with an idea to do something different. The duo chose fountain pens as their product, as during that time, these pens used to be imported from abroad.
Gama was originally designed in Chennai and made in England. Over time, the manufacturing was localized and brought into India. Today, Gama pens are made with a special type of ebonite which the artisan shapes, cuts and turns into one-of-a-kind handcrafted master pieces, each with it’s own unique swirls and gorgeous patterns that will be a great addition to anyone’s pen collection.
